10th Euroslag Conference

NOWMORE was invited to moderate the opening panel of the 10th EUROSLAG Conference, taking place in Thessaloniki (Greece) at the University of Aristotle on the 9th of October. The Conference brings together every two years all persons involved in processing, using and marketing slag from private companies, public authorities, research institutes, environment safety organisations etc… It is an opportunity to address issues related to the legal framework for slag, market applications, as well as R&D priorities.

This year, the main topic of the conference centred on the use of slag-based products underpinning the circular economy. The introductory panel was composed of distinguished speakers Aurelio Braconi from EUROFER, George Kremlis from the European Commission, Thomas Reiche from EUROSLAG, Vassilios Liogkas from the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy, Panagiotis Skiadas from VIOHALCO and Ioanna Papyianni from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. They addressed the challenges and opportunities for the ferrous slag value chain to contribute to the EU Circular Economy agenda.
