Let’s do it together: citizens engagement

A 2 day conference, where NOWMORE was invited by Eurocities to faciliate an exchange of views between participants on a series of principles that Eurocities could uphold to improve or encourage citizens engagement in the development of city policies.

Eurocities members were then joined by external speakers, invited to give their perspective on the issue, in relation to priority areas for deliberative democracy to express itself, the processes and tools that can enhance citizen participation in local decision-making, as well as the role of cities in fostering more citizens engagement in politics.

This debate on how to foster citizen engagement on local level had fascinating contributions from Sylvine Bois-Choussy from la 27e Région, Claudia Chwalisz from the OECD, Dharmendra Kanani from Friends of Europe, Charlot Schans from Stipo and Nicolas Mansier from the CPDP in Paris.

The event took place in the Paris Town Hall, and for lunch we had the chance to visit the main hall, which does have a certain charm.
