What will it take to achieve a sustainable use of pesticides?
The European Commission’s proposal for a regulation on the sustainable use of pesticides has caused quite a stir.
After having been initially delayed, it is now under review in the European Parliament and by EU Member States. And it promises major changes: not least, to reduce by half the use of chemical pesticides by 2030.
The members of CropLife Europe are leading companies that develop and supply pesticides. In our conversation with its Director General, Olivier de Matos, we will get the views of an industry sector that – on the face of it – has a lot to lose.
Also on the topic of pesticides, watch NOWMORE Questions episode 1 with Pekka Pesonen, Secretary General of Copa-Cogeca and NOWMORE Questions episode 4 with Alain Peeters, Vice-President of Agroecology Europe..
